chocolate fountain

One of the questions we get often is, can I put any chocolate in a chocolate fountain? The answer is yes… and no.

Yes, you can use any that you would like to use to put in a chocolate fountain, but it has to be formulated. You cannot add melted chocolate to a fountain unless it has been formulated, otherwise it won’t flow.

We’ve Made It Easy:

  • We carry chocolate already formulated for fountain use. It comes in both dark and milk. Unfortunately, there is no white chocolate that has been formulated for fountain use.

So what if you want white chocolate? Or a colorful compound coating to flow from the fountain?

You still can! It just requires you formulating it yourself. Here’s how:

How to Formulate a Compound Coating:

  • Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa butter to 4 cups unformulated chocolate.

How to Formulate a Couverture Chocolate:

  • Courverture chocolate is a little tricky to work with when it comes to chocolate fountains, but it can be done. It melts a little thinner, so not as much cocoa butter is needed. We suggest adding 1/2 tablespoon of cocoa butter at a time, until you get the right consistency.
